Pool Construction Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

The Assistant Construction Manager will serve in a support role to assist Project Managers in the planning and coordination of projects, take on some administrative duties, independently manage some project elements and deliver materials to job sites on time. The Assistant Construction Manager is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of our services are being delivered to the highest level to ensure client satisfaction. This is an entry-level position with training paths to project management and/or sales roles. We are looking for individuals who take pride in developing themselves in order to advance in their careers and reach their full potential.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with all those involved in the project.
  • To meet and communicate at regular intervals with Project Management team to keep them currently advised on the status of assigned tasks
  • Assist Project Managers with procuring materials and other items necessary for completing project goals.
  • Deliver materials to and from job sites and suppliers.
  • Place orders to purchase materials with suppliers
  • Supporting the coordination and management of projects
  • Complete any tasks assigned by the Project Managers in an efficient and timely manner
  • Work directly with project managers to help implement project goals
  • Safely operate company vehicle while pulling a trailer with construction materials and/or equipment.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, safety compliance and quality standards at all times.
  • Unload materials at job sites. Must be able to lift 80+ lbs.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Courteously interact with customers and/or the general public along the route, answer questions and respond to requests.
  • Notify supervisor of issues requiring action from management.
  • Maneuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors and eye-sight.
  • Follow safe operating practices at all times
  • Monitor operations to detect loose debris, using mirrors or direct sight, and/or listening for debris falling off truck or trailer.
  • Adhere to all traffic rules, regulations, standards, and laws.
  • Clean waste and debris from trailer and truck bed/body each day.
  • Other duties as assigned by Project Managers
  • To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Contract Documents, the General Contract and the Subcontracts
  • Attend pre-construction meetings with Project Manager as needed
  • To keep accurate and up to date records of invoices and receipts, daily logs/ flow of work, and communications with customers.
  • To manage all materials and keep inventory of materials to prevent theft or loss, and return all unused materials for credit back from the suppliers or re-purpose for future jobs
  • To visit each job site regularly to ensure that the quality of work being performed is up to company and industry standards.
  • To maintain Magnolia Patio and Pool administrative procedures as they relate to the project

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • An enthusiastic attitude and positive mindset with a focus on helping grow the company
  • A strong sense of urgency in completing tasks
  • A can-do, will-do attitude, willing to learn new skills and develop both personally and professionally
  • Ability to work long hours and be dependable and consistent in meeting expectations
  • Eager to train daily on customer service, construction management, and sales skills
  • Willing and able to take on physical labor as needed to load materials and deliver materials from supplier to jobsite and vice versa
  • Proven track record of working efficiently
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Familiar with MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook) and Google apps (Docs, Sheets, Calendar)
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Extreme attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative mind with ability to suggest improvements
  • High School diploma and some college is preferred
