Inside Sales/Project Manager

Our client is a leading provider of piping systems in the industrial, commercial, institutional, power generation, and military piping markets. We manufacture piping systems for central heat and chill water distribution. Catering to “institutional” users, our products and services are typically utilized at universities, hospitals, military bases, prisons, and any other campus style facility that uses central plant distribution.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

We are looking to fill the position of Project Manager. The primary function of this position is to act as a liaison between our sales representatives/customers, and our internal operations (engineering/production). Requirements include, but are not limited to:

•Maintain contact with sales representatives (approximately 40 offices), contractors and engineers to drive sales and produce required deliverables in a timely manner.

•Analyze contract drawings, specifications, and bid estimates

•Serve as the primary contact within the sales department to address customer service inquiries that are of a technical nature. Resolving issues quickly will require rapid coordination with Engineering, Production, and Field Service Departments.

•Rep Management: Our sales model utilizes Manufacturer’s Representatives. Continue to cultivate strong relationships with our representatives. Manage projects from initial bid through ship date. This includes estimates, engineering, product submittals, production scheduling and shipping. Ensure that expectations for deliverables are set and adhered to.

•Conflict Resolution: Candidate must be proactive in handling disputes. Whether issues arise within our rep organization, or externally with contractors/end users, the project manager must be able to acknowledge that a problem exists and immediately address this problem. Project manager is often placed in high-pressure situations.

•Answer all inquiries that come in via phone or email and working with internal stakeholders to find an answer for the customer.

•Manage all “house accounts”. Projects not assigned to a commissioned territory representative will be managed by the Sales Engineer/Project Manager with respect to communication of expectations to the customer, change orders, shipping schedules, and any other deliverable required.

•Must be comfortable with and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ERP, and CRM systems. Experience with estimating software is a plus.

•Travel: Not extensive, but potential, occasional travel may be required for trade shows, presentations, etc.

•Obsession with Customer Service

•Ability to face problems and maintain composure

•Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects

•Strong presence both over the phone and in person

•Sales and Presentation abilities

Required Experience

2+ years project management experience. Manufacturing or engineering background required.
