Job Summary:

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of our polyurethane processing equipment at customer sites, both domestically and internationally. The Field Service Technician provides customer training and  technical support before, during, and after installations. The ideal candidate will be adept at troubleshooting, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality service to ensure customer satisfaction. This position will be a hybrid role, primarily remote and at customer sites with occasional travel to California for training and development.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Testing: Finalize equipment setup and testing for customer approval prior to shipment to customer site.
  • Pre-Installation Preparation: Review installation plans and equipment specifications prior to arrival at the site to ensure all necessary tools, parts, and materials are on hand.
  • Equipment Installation: Travel domestically and internationally to customer sites for equipment installations, maintenance, upgrades and repairs, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and integration with existing systems
  • Customer Training: Conduct machine demonstrations and provide training to customers on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols to ensure they are well-equipped to use the equipment effectively.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of installed equipment to verify performance and compliance with specifications before finalizing the installation.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installation procedures, equipment configurations, and any modifications made during the process.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve equipment-related issues, including mechanical, electrical, and control system problems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering and support teams to provide feedback and assist in continuous improvement of installation procedures and equipment design.
  • Technical Support: Offer on-going technical support and guidance before, during, and after the installation process, addressing and troubleshooting any issues or concerns that arise.
  • Customer Service: Manage the sale of spare parts and entry of customer orders.

 

Qualifications:

  •  A proven track record of at least 5 years as a Field Service Technician, with extensive experience diagnosing and resolving equipment issues
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally, including occasional weekend travel
  • Self-motivated with strong mechanical and electrical/electronic skills, capable of reading mechanical drawings, electrical   schematics, and diagrams
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, pipe fitting tools, brazing equipment, and electronic test equipment
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain positive interactions at all times
