Job DescriptionJob Description

A plastics and metals contract manufacturer is seeking a Master Planner. This person will be responsible for developing daily production plans and schedules, managing production expedites / change orders, and coordinating the availability of raw materials for the production process.

What will my responsibilities include?

  • Participate in analyzing, planning, and establishing overall production objectives.
  • Forecast future production schedules based on order management tools.
  • Organize and prepare master schedules to conform with delivery dates, revise schedules to offset delays.
  • Maintain surveillance over orders in process to keep informed of manufacturing status.
  • Reschedule orders due to customer requests, purchasing, capacity.
  • Coordinate schedules with other departments relative to lead-time required for procurement of tools or fixtures, subcontracting and routing accuracy to avoid delays.
  • Release work orders to shop floor and reschedule orders as required due to customer request, purchasing lead times and machine capacity.

What qualifications should I have?

  • 3+ years’ experience in equivalent manufacturing roles or production planning field preferred.

  • Planning / Scheduling Experience utilizing an ERP system required.
