SUMMARY

Receives incoming customer equipment (RMA). Tests, evaluates, troubleshoots, repairs, and supplies detailed tech notes. Assist in supporting Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Engineering. Ensure that products and materials conform to design specifications at all stages of production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Receive field returns of all electronic/mechanical scales and electrical/mechanical can openers as well as other food service products to prescribe repair method.
  • Evaluate, report, and determine root-cause of product failures.
  • Perform all repairs required per Edlund quality standards.
  • Ability to solder fine gage electronics wires.
  • Must follow FIFO method
  • Clean and box completed repairs per Edlund standards.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Customer Service to resolve customer complaints.
  • Provide technical support for customers, mfg. reps., dealers, and outside repair centers as required.
  • Provide training when requested to assembly and repair personnel.

ADDITONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proficient in multiple work centers and/or departments for all assembly jobs.
  • Position requires considerable amount of initial training and continued training required for position in work centers and repairs to support all products.
  • Perform various inspection duties (dimensional, hardness testing, visual, surface finish etc.) when required.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Perform receiving, in-process and final inspection when required.
  • Perform internal packed stock audits
  • When required, flexibility to work in manufacturing as needed

  • Follow all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by Edlund Company and the department.

  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed including job rotation and/or overtime.
  • Ability to uphold Safety standards, participate in continuous process improvements on the job, and follow our Manufacturing best practices.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office required
  • Experience with ERP software, IQMS is ideal.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associates degree from a college or university; or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Predominately active with moderate frequency of standing, walking, lifting, reaching, hand and arm usage (34% - 67% of the workday).
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell.
