Summary

Responsible for fitting and welding of conveyor components. Extensive use of welding equipment and fitting equipment is required. Must be able to read, understand and build from engineered prints/drawings. Must currently possess or be able to attain AWS required welding certification within the first 6 months of employment. This individual is responsible for helping to ensure timely deliveries and delivery of a quality product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Extensive use of welders and machinery associated with the assigned job task.

Establish good communications and working rapport with supervisors, engineers and manufacturing personnel to insure a high level of customer service is delivered.

Understand Douglas products and the mechanical applications in which they are used.

Read a tape measure to within 1/16 of an inch and understand engineered drawings.

Lift 50 pounds.

Stand continuously for an 8 hour shift with overtime as required by company.

Apply verbal and written communication skills to communicate important issues to management and co-workers.

Continually exhibit the qualities of trustworthiness, a strong work ethic, and positive attitude.

Manage and organize own work while remaining a team player and handling other assigned tasks as required by the company.

Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.

Regular, consistent attendance is a requirement. Overtime as required by the company.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma (or equivalent) and three years minimum experience and/or training in an industrial (manufacturing) environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Training, Certifications, Licenses

Valid State Driver’s License. Must be able to satisfactorily complete company forklift certification. Background, DMV, and drug and alcohol screening conducted as a condition of employment and continued employment.
