Job Description:
As a pharmacy technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacists and ensuring the efficient operation of the pharmacy. You will assist in dispensing medications accurately, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to the overall patient care experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to dosage instructions.
- Process prescription orders by accurately entering patient and prescription information into the pharmacy's computer system.
- Measure, count, and package medications according to prescribed dosages, ensuring proper labeling and safety standards.
- Maintain inventory by monitoring stock levels, restocking shelves, and ordering supplies as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries, assisting with insurance coverage questions, and maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Support pharmacy operations by maintaining patient records, organizing prescription files, and handling cash register transactions.
- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines governing pharmaceutical practices.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications and processing prescriptions.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with pharmacy computer systems and technology.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize responsibilities.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug classifications, and basic math skills.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
