Warehouse Lead

The warehouse lead at Lotus Bakeries' Plant Mebane optimizes internal warehouse processes, determines shipping priorities and sets the shipping schedule to achieve the required shipment plan. In addition to maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring FIFO through regular cycle counts and audits, the warehouse lead will reconcile inventory issues, perform root cause analysis, and identify and correct shipping and receiving issues. This person will be expected to ensure our warehouse is safe, clean, organized, and aligned to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Responsibilities

• Schedule outbound trucks (LTL, FTL and parcel packages) and schedule inbound shipments
• Work with logistic providers to ensure timely deliveries and pickups and resolve issues
• Assign carriers based on price, service, and timing balanced with efficient warehouse operation
• Responsible for the accuracy of all associated required paperwork for shipping and receiving functions (delivery notes, bill of ladings, packing lists, COAs, and customs documents)
• Perform daily and weekly inventory cycle counts and audits; track cycle count adjustments to identify trends and work collaboratively with other team members and departments to determine best practices for continuous improvement
• Ensure all GMP procedures are followed for storage of raw materials and packaging materials
• Monitor internal warehouse dashboard to timely and accurately resolve issues in warehouse ERP
• Maintain shipping and receiving materials
• Assist in resolving and daily shipping and receiving discrepancies
• Communicate with customer service, planning, and production regarding status of outbound orders
• Collaborate and communicate with material handlers, customer service representatives, and others involved with shipment and receipt of product
• Manage and execute small pack shipment process
• Assist as needed in all receiving, warehouse and shipping operations

Qualifications

• Physical Inventory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent math skills such as multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft office (specifically intermediate functions within excel such as SUM(), VLOOKUP(),MATCH() and pivot tables)
• Knowledge of INCO terms and shipping documents (Bill of Ladings, Packing lists, Delivery notes)
• 5-10 years’ experience in warehouse and logistics operations including shipping, receiving, and warehousing
• Experience with shipping FEDEX, UPS, and DHL; international shipping experience preferred
• Proficient knowledge working in an ERP system (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
• Experience working with 3PL partners and coordinating logistic operations
• Obsessive attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate within and outside the organization
• Ability to solve problems with creative "out of the box solutions" and bring continuous improvement mindset to daily operations
