COMPANY NAME: Emi Industries
JOB TITLE: Press Brake Operator
LOCATION: Cranston, RI
HOURS: 1st Shift, 6am-2:30 pm

The Press Brake/Machine Operator is responsible for reviewing part drawings and setting up and operating brake press machines, entering in bend dimensions and bend deductions based on different gauges of sheet metal. A strong candidate will have good math skills with the ability to convert inches into decimals (for example 3 = 3.25), have the ability to visualize a 3-dimensional part prior to bending a flat shape, similar to seeing a paper airplane in your head before folding the paper. Experience operating a press brake is a must.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Sensitive position.
  • Set up and operate machines such as brakes, rolls, sheers, saws, and presses.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.
  • Select, position, and secure blades, cutters, and fixtures onto machine.
  • Observe operation of machine and adjust the action or programming if needed.
  • Make minor repairs and adjustments to machines and notifies supervisor when major service is required.
  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned area and maintain all safety standards.
  • Support other departments as necessary.
  • Perform additional assignments in accordance with the Shop Supervisors
Successful candidates will have:
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, and maintenance.
  • A minimumof three years Press Brake Metal experience
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Proficient basic math skills.
  • Ability to work in a demanding, multi-task environment.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and vendors.
  • Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Trained in lockout/tagout (LOTO).
