ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Purchase the assigned products in a timely manner for distribution.
  • Take advantage of vendor promotions, discounts and marketing programs.
  • Adjust purchasing patterns as necessary for customer demand.
  • Monitor the inventory levels and expiration dates for assigned products.
  • Be a liaison between suppliers and the division’s sales reps & customers.

Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of combined buying, planning, sales, or allocation responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of ERP Purchasing
  • Proficiency in Excel, other Microsoft Office products, and Windows-based programs.
  • Strong merchandising, product, trend, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of Procurement, and Sales

As a Purchasing Agent for a Full Line Food Service Distributor, you will be instrumental in managing procurement processes, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely sourcing of products. Leveraging core skills in purchasing, negotiation, and procurement, you will play avital role in optimizing supply chain efficiency and maintaining inventory control. With relevant expertise in logistics, pricing, and production planning, you will contribute to the seamless flow of goods and services, ultimately supporting the organization's goals in delivering quality food products to customers.
