We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team at New Leader Academy, a special education school in Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and managing individualized care plans for our students, ensuring their health and well-being within the school environment. As a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN), you will work closely with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to provide the highest standard of care for our students. The ideal candidate has a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with children.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with colleagues, educators, and parents to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for students
  • Administer medications and monitor students for side effects or reactions
  • Document any changes in student conditions and report these to the appropriate supervisors
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student care
  • Provide first aid and emergency care as needed
  • Educate staff and students on health practices and safety protocols
  • Participate in the development and implementation of school health policies
Qualifications

  • Currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Illinois
  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and client care skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license
  • First aid/CPR certification required
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
