We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team at New Leader Academy, a special education school in Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and managing individualized care plans for our students, ensuring their health and well-being within the school environment. As a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN), you will work closely with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to provide the highest standard of care for our students. The ideal candidate has a strong background in nursing, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with children.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with colleagues, educators, and parents to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for students
Administer medications and monitor students for side effects or reactions
Document any changes in student conditions and report these to the appropriate supervisors
Maintain accurate and detailed records of student care
Provide first aid and emergency care as needed
Educate staff and students on health practices and safety protocols
Participate in the development and implementation of school health policies
Qualifications
Currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Illinois
Previous experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
Excellent interpersonal and client care skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Valid driver’s license
First aid/CPR certification required
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
