Job Summary:

The Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for performing repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics on a variety of heavy equipment and machinery at customer sites. This role involves traveling to different locations to service equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

·        Conduct routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes.·        Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, utilizing diagnostic tools and equipment as needed.·        Perform component rebuilds, engine overhauls, and other major repairs to restore equipment functionality.·        Travel to customer sites to service and repair equipment, responding to service calls and emergency breakdowns in a timely manner.·        Maintain a service vehicle with necessary tools, parts, and equipment to perform on-site repairs effectively.·        Communicate with customers to assess equipment issues, provide repair estimates, and ensure customer satisfaction.·        Document all service activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and labor hours, in service reports and maintenance logs.·        Provide detailed reports and recommendations to customers regarding equipment condition, repairs needed, and preventive maintenance measures.·        Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing work, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

·        High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical training program in heavy equipment mechanics preferred.·        Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, with expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.·        Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, computerized systems, and service manuals to troubleshoot equipment issues.·        Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and team members.·        Valid driver's license and clean driving record; willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.·        Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks in various weather conditions and work environments.
