We are currently seeking an experienced People Operations Manager to develop and elevate our employee culture program by providing exemplary service and support to our exceptional team members.

 

Position Summary:

As a People Operations Manager at Montana Internet, you will play a crucial role in administering our human resources, payroll, and benefits framework. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing comprehensive payroll tasks, benefits enrollment and maintenance, and reconciliations with vendors. You will ensure operational excellence and compliance across all processes, contributing significantly to our team’s well-being and satisfaction.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Administer accurate and timely payroll processing, including timekeeping and auditing.
  • Manage benefits programs such as health insurance, disability coverages, and employee perks, ensuring smooth enrollment and maintenance.
  • Provide guidance and support on HR policies and programs, assisting with both onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and update internal systems and databases.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and management regarding compensation, benefits, and policy changes.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management to stay ahead of payroll and benefits trends and legal updates.
  • Lead annual initiatives such as open enrollment and performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with Executive Management and external consultants to spearhead the creation of impactful employee policies and procedures, enhancing the organizational framework and ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.
  • Continuously update and refine our employee handbook, providing clear guidance to team members on expectations and procedures for handling various professional scenarios in a compliant and effective manner.
  • Facilitate training sessions for management and front-line teams, ensuring thorough understanding and implementation of the policies outlined in the employee handbook and other relevant topics.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Profound communication skills, adept in both verbal and written formats.
  • Strong organizational abilities, ensuring efficient operation and data management.
  • Commitment to professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Keen analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, and HRIS platforms such as BambooHR.
  • Preferred experience in payroll and benefits administration.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field; relevant experience will also be considered.
  • SHRM Certification is an asset.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Payroll and/or Human Resources roles.

 

Physical Demands:

  • General office mobility, including standing, walking, sitting, typing, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift items up to 10 lbs occasionally.

 

Work Environment:

  • Our work setting is primarily office-based, with occasional opportunities for hybrid flexibility.


Employment Type & Work Flexibility:

This is a full-time, salaried-exempt role uniquely designed to accommodate candidates with the right mix of experience and mindset who may also prefer an alternative schedule-flexible work arrangement. Hours can vary between 30 and 40 per week, allowing you to balance professionalism and personal time effectively. Embracing a performance-driven approach, this position also offers the potential for a hybrid work environment, enabling you to excel both in-office and remotely based on your workload, achievements, and proactive mindset.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
