Job SummaryWe are looking for an energetic Teaching Assistant to join our team As a Teaching Assistant, you will assist the classroom teacher with classroom duties and instruction. Your goal is to follow the teacher's lead in creating a safe, nurturing and welcoming learning environment, while following Montessori principals and philosophy. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, willing to work as a team and has a passion for working with young children
Responsibilities: 
  • Assist students individually and in small groups
  • Supervise students in the classroom and elsewhere in the school
  • Enforce classroom rules and procedures
  • Work as a team with Lead Teacher and others
  • Communicate with school staff and parents as requested by the head teacher
Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant is preferred
  • Understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
  • Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Energetic and positive attitude
  • Ability to pass a background check
