Job DescriptionJob Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install,
troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment and improve production up-time and
quality to support the achievement of PTF’s business goals and objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):
 Primary responsibility for the maintenance and repair of small, large and specialized equipment
 Daily inspection tours of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic plant equipment
 Regular preventive maintenance such as cleaning, checking and lubricating bearings, gear boxes,
and gauges, as well as changing out filters and assemblies
 Troubleshoot and diagnosis problems by observing equipment in operation, listening, and using
precision measuring and testing instruments
 Maintain a safe and clean working environment and comply with safety rules and regulations
 Research, identify and order parts as needed
 Establish, catalogue and maintain spare parts inventory for equipment, parts, and supplies
 Maintain records of maintenance and repair activities
 Measure and improve up-time by performing routine preventive maintenance
 Participate in facility maintenance, such as painting and general facility repairs
 On-call and call-back responsibilities, as needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
 Very active position requiring standing, walking, balancing, bending, kneeling, stooping,
crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling,
hearing, and repetitive motions all day
 Frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds
 Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and
ability to adjust focus as well as the visual acuity to operate machines and equipment including
close inspection of moving and small parts, and using measurement devices
