Job Title: Field Technician 

Location:  Pittsburg, PA  15001 

Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire

Pay Range: $19.5/hr. on w2

Job Description:

Position Overview:

Responsible for installation, maintenance, and repairs on equipment within an assigned territory/region to assure continuity of customer operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Problem Ownership: Own customer problems or incidents until resolution to the customer's satisfaction and/or in compliance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform work on products and services of low complexity, specifically financial/ATM products; make minor repairs and replace components on Tier I equipment such as PCs, workstations, peripherals, printers, front-end POS systems, ATMs, kiosks, and single pocket proof encoders.
  • Site Preparation: Assist in site preparation, including cable installation, equipment staging, and minor testing; perform required modular swaps and unit replacements.
  • Customer Interaction: Respond to customer concerns or problems by resolving them or escalating to the appropriate associate, team member, territory manager, or Control Tower.
  • Relationship Building: Build working relationships with customers and develop informal communication channels at the local level; represent the company positively.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform periodic preventative maintenance on assigned products; diagnose problems, make minor repairs, and replace components (at the module level); follow appropriate security procedures when working with ATMs and within financial institutions.
  • Asset Management: Manage all assets used in the delivery of customer services (e.g., tools, software, vehicles, documentation, intellectual property) or as assigned by management.
  • Reporting: Accurately and promptly report calls and activities; track and report all expenses incurred in the delivery of services, including telephone, private automobile, and/or public transportation.
  • Customer Data Capture: Capture detailed customer asset information and other data required for invoicing or billing activities.
  • Daily Dispatch: May be dispatched daily on a call-by-call basis or establish a daily schedule based on automated reports.
  • Physical Requirements: May require prolonged travel, carrying and lifting tool kits/parts of varying weights (1-50 lbs.); bending/squatting, walking/standing/sitting for prolonged periods; working on rotating shifts.
  • Team Collaboration: Ensure staff productivity measures are achieved; work with Call Center Staff via PDA to recover machines; collaborate with Security Escort Officer.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-1 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; experience with Windows XP and Windows 2000 operating systems.
  • Experience in PC hardware maintenance and support.
  • A+ Certification, ITE, or Polytechnic in Electronics and Communications Engineering.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems.
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer relationship management.
  • High mechanical/electrical aptitude; experience maintaining computer hardware (desktops, servers, peripherals), routers, networks, switches, hubs.
  • High level of personal integrity; support and promote teamwork and cooperative effort.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, overtime, flex shifts, and on-call availability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • Previous experience with similar equipment is a plus.
