Responsibilities:
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Perform all required safety checks (i.e. pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and take appropriate action as needed
- Verify load against shipping papers, pick material and load truck in the assigned, appropriate order of delivery
- Perform count checks and review customer invoices. Complete in an accurate and legible fashion all required paper work associated with freight
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state and company requirements
- Inspect and ensure that tractor and trailer/freight are properly loaded, locked and secured at all times
- Report all safety issues and/or repairs required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must submit to a pre-employment Drug Test and Background check
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Class B CDL required; minimum of 2 years of experience
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
