Warehouse Team Lead

Our client is in need of project team supervisors to help monitor and supervise a project in the Middletown, DE area. The crew is assembling large volumes of cardboard bins. *PLEASE NOTE: This will be a CONTRACT position. The start date for this position is still to be determined, but will more than likely be within the next 2 weeks.
Essential Functions
- Directly supervise 20 to 40 hourly employees.
- Ensure compliance with the client’s safety and security program.
- Train employees on how to assemble and install bins correctly and be able to identify quality defects/errors. Coach and mentor employees and be able to recognize their strengths and weaknesses and place them appropriately. Make recommendations on DNR’s (do not return). Treat all employees with respect.
- Coordinate manpower needs and shift requirements with project managers.
- Assess and approve assembly line set-up for most efficient production rates.
- Track inventory and delivery of raw materials to ensure constant flow of product. Communicate with project managers to adjust delivery schedules as needed. Make proactive adjustments in staffing, material, and workflow to continually meet or exceed the project schedule.
- Document daily production reports.
- Conduct daily housekeeping to remove waste and packing materials.
- Assist with shift changes and ensure oncoming shift is setup and all company property is accounted for and report thefts, losses or damages.
- Direct quality assurance audits as necessary.
- Approve and forward all temp labor to the HR department and Project Manager on a weekly basis and approve any and all project employee’s time for payroll.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED required. B.S./B.A. in a business concentration preferred
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Utilize E-mail, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time wisely.
- Ability to make sound decisions regarding production and personnel issues.
- Lift up to 25 lbs alone and up to 50 lbs assisted.
- Both stand and sit for an eight to ten-hour shift.
