COMPANY PURPOSE: Our team is looking for an experienced MIG/ TIG Welder Fabricator with experience in custom metal fabrication and construction. The Austin Canvas & Awning team is a fun, smart, and energetic environment where you will be challenged, rewarded, and inspired. A well-established and innovative company specializing in architectural details (Canopies, walkways, Trellis’ Decorative Specialties, etc.) architectural metal fabrication, custom finishes, and exterior aluminum specialties. QUALIFICATIONS:

· MIG and TIG aluminum welding experience (non-negotiable). Push Pull MIG Welding (Pulse MIG a plus) experience

· Passing an onsite welding test required to demonstrate skills and use of equipment.

· Must possess skills to operate all shop equipment: MIG Welders, TIG Welders, Iron Worker, Band Saws, etc. (non-negotiable)

· Must be able to read and accurately measure within 1/16.”

· Ability to perform precise measurements using tape measure, square, protractor, and digital levels.

· Basic mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, fractions, and decimals.

· Ability to lift 50 lbs. +

· Knowledge of welding machine settings, wire feeds, other welding equipment, and shielding gas requirements.

· Experience in layout & fabricating.

· Previous experience in production, manufacturing, or other related fields.

· Knowledge of production tools and equipment.

· Ability and willingness to work in a warehouse environment.

· Good communication skills, self-motivation, and excellent time management skills.

· Be able to maintain a clean organized work area and ability to handle physical workload.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Interact with leadership and be a team player.

· Read and interpret shop fabrication drawings.

· Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products.

· Install and repair various equipment and components.

· Follow blueprints to meet product specifications.

· Conduct tests to evaluate welding quality and tolerance.

· Maintain a high level of quality control with an emphasis on safety.

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· WABO Certified preferred: SMAW-FCAW
