Precision Mechanical Assembler

Mechanical Assembler IS A DIRECT HIRE POSITION

Location: Madison Heights Michigan

QUARTERLY PROFIT SHARING / BENEFITS

  • Quarterly Cash Profit Sharing – Approximately $5,250.00 at this rate
  • Profit Sharing Retirement Plan (our “401k” match) - Approximately $5,600.00
  • BC/BS Platinum PPO Health Insurance - $19,000 rough cost per employee
  • Dental/Vision/ADD/LTD $2,700 rough cost per employee
  • Profit Sharing Retirement Plan is awarded regardless of personal participation in 401k plan

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

  • Assemble complex, precision mechanical systems and components based on detailed engineering blueprints and procedures.
  • Attention to close tolerance and high precision.
  • Utilize various hand tools and power tools to ensure precise assembly and adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct quality inspections to verify conformance with specifications and identify any potential issues.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to optimize assembly processes and efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, including work orders and job reports.
  • Follow strict safety protocols and industry standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assembly with attention to close tolerance, high precision, utilizing machine tool accessories.
  • Perform testing of final products on a cylindrical grinding machine.

Qualifications

  • Work is performed while sitting, but frequent standing, bending, and moving around is necessary.
  • Daily activities will include lifting and handling of steel components.
  • Proven experience in mechanical assembly within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical diagrams, understands clearances and tolerances.
  • Proficiency with a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools such as dial calipers and indicators.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends where needed.
  • Flexibility to perform duties other than assembly and willingness to adapt.
  • Experience using ERP systems, computers, and MS Office Products is a plus.
  • Manual milling machine experience is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
