Heatherwood is currently looking for a Golf Machinery Mechanic to join the team. A candidate in this position is responsible for making major and minor repairs on a variety of gasoline, diesel, and electric-powered equipment. The Golf Mechanic will report to the Golf Course Superintendent.

 

Requirements

  • Candidate should be able to form routine maintenance and repairs on golf course equipment, including mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles.
  • New Jacobsen equipment Fleet is scheduled for delivery in early 2024
  • Preventive maintenance to be performed on all equipment.
  • Work with the Green Department staff and Superintendent team to schedule maintenance tasks.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and equipment condition.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance.
  • Understands and follows Federal, State, and local regulations such as disposal of hazardous wastes.
  • Work as part of a team.
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.

 

Skills

  • Experience as mechanic / Equipment Tech or similar role.

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing small engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.

  • Ability to keep accurate service records for equipment and purchases.

 

Special Requirements

  • Must have a valid NYS driver’s license.

  • Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and perform tasks in various weather conditions.

 

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
