Job Title – Certified Medical Assistant, Front Office and Back Office

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our small OB/GYN office in Lakeland, FL. As a front & back office Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care experiences and ensuring the efficient functioning of our practice. Your dual responsibilities will involve assisting our providers in patient care, clinical procedures, and assisting the front office with administrative tasks when needed.

General Responsibilities

Back Office Duties:

· Prepare examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.

· Escort patients to examination rooms, record vital signs, and gather medical history.

· Assist the provider during patient exams and procedures, maintaining patient comfort and privacy.

· Prepare and process lab specimens for testing as required.

· Document all patient information accurately & timely in the EMR system.

· Ensure medical equipment is properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained.

· Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe clinical environment.

· Participate and support the practice in Centering™ model for OB patients.

Front Office Duties:

· Greet and welcome patients with warmth and professionalism.

· Handle incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries.

· Maintain a positive and empathetic attitude when dealing with patient concerns.

· Check-in patients, verify their demographic and insurance information.

· Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits and billing queries.

· Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely claims submission.

· Provide patients with necessary educational materials and instructions as directed by the medical team.

· Follow up on patient appointments, tests, and referrals to ensure continuity of care.

· Manage office supplies inventory and place orders when needed.

Job Qualifications

· Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from an accredited program.

·2+ years of previous work experience as a medical assistant in an OB/GYN setting is required.

· Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and standard office software.

· Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures is advantageous.

· Essential Experience: Possess either 3 years of prior experience in a MA, CNA, or PCA role, or possess Florida Certified Nurse Assistant Certification.
Certifications Essential: CPR certification

· Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail to manage administrative tasks efficiently.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with patients and colleagues.

· Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.

· Demonstrated empathy and sensitivity when dealing with patients from diverse backgrounds.
