Driver Duties / Responsibilities

  • Own a to driver a high-roof van for local and regional expedite shipments.
  • Drivers will be available to transport between the hours of 0800 – 1700 (After Hours and Weekend work will be organized based on availability of drivers) for periods of a week or more. 
  • Drivers will conduct a vehicle precheck ensuring integrity of van each morning.
  • Drivers will carry an up-to-date inspection of their van.
  • The inspection form will be given to management and added to the MURK Transportation LLC binder which will be issued by management.
  • Drivers will maintain communication with dispatch for upcoming shipments.
  • Drivers will report all shipment milestones (ETA, Shipper Arrival, Receiver Arrival, Discrepancies, etc...).
  • Drivers will submit photocopies of loaded material and Bill of Lading (BOL) from Shipper, Proof of Delivery (POD) from the Receiver, and any other supported documents needed/requested by dispatch validating the completion of the shipment.
  • Drivers will utilize company tracking throughout each shipment.
  • Drivers will wear long pants and closed toed shoes for each shipment. Short-sleeved shirts are allowed. Shorts, sweatpants, and sandals of any kind are prohibited while conducting business.

Equipment

  • Drivers will carry a minimum of 4 straps within their van.
  • Drivers will carry a functioning fire extinguisher in their van that is positioned conveniently if use is ever needed.
  • Drivers will carry Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) within their van. PPE includes glasses, hard hat, reflective safety vest and first aid kit.
  • Drivers van unit will carry a GVWR of under 10,000 LBS
  • Drivers van unit is a high-roof unit with 12 ft of space.
