Legal Administrative Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join a non-profit law firm as a Legal Administrative Assistant. This role will provide essential support to the legal team and contribute to the operation of our clients firm.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with administrative tasks, including drafting correspondence, preparing legal documents, and organizing files.
- Manage incoming and outgoing calls, correspondence, including emails, letters, and faxes.
- Maintain electronic and physical filing systems, ensuring that documents are organized and easily accessible.
- Assist with event coordination, including preparing supplies for clinics/KYR presentations and confirming volunteer attendance.
- Attend evening and weekend clinics/KYRs, as needed, and assist with coordination of events and volunteers.
- Create marketing materials for events and activities, such as Legal Screening Clinic and Know Your Rights (KYR) presentations.
- Support with legal research using online databases and other resources to support case preparation and strategy.
- Communicate updates and information to clients regarding the status of their cases, under the supervision of attorneys.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive client information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in legal studies, paralegal studies, or related field preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Previous experience in a legal environment or administrative role is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software applications.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as necessary.
