Responsibility:

 Before starting job, reviews work order and makes sure that all prior processes are signed off and completed  • Creates a first part and brings it to the supervisor for approval  • Cut, shape & form material according to design  • Loads control media into machine control console or enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions  • Loads & secures proper material into machine, monitors displays, observes & listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions.  • Measures and inspects finished parts for conformance to design  • Uses measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers & gages  • Records and notifies supervisor of any non-conformances  • Cleans & Performs preventative maintenance to the machine on a regular basis  • Maintains a clean working area  • Maintains a fast and steady pace  • Cross trains as needed in other departments  • Maintain job records on computer database  • Follows all safety rules and reports any safety concerns  • Notify supervisor if any tools, equipment or safety gear is damaged or inoperable, Machine operator responsible for set-up, operation and preventative maintenance on their machines.  

Knowledge/Skill:  

Analyze documentation to determine setup procedure & dimensional locations for machine that will meet configuration of finished part. Understand tolerance requirement and the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers and gages.  

Qualifications 

5 years minimum experience with 3 axis CNC machining centers. • 2 years minimum experience with 4 & 5 axis CNC machining centers • Experience with FANUC control • Able to read and interpret detailed, engineered drawings. • Able to use precision inspection tools to verify work. • Work independently as well as promoting a team environment. • Must be a US citizen and able to read & write in English.
