SUMMARY: Management Business Solutions is seeking a Civil Construction Estimating Manager for its client in Sylmar, CA. The person will be responsible for estimating costs and preparing bids for various civil construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and labor costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Estimate costs for high-profile design-build and build-bid civil construction projects, based on project plans and specifications.
  • Analyze project requirements and develop accurate and competitive bid proposals.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for bids.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate prices to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather relevant data for estimating purposes.
  • Prepare and present cost estimates, budgets, and proposals to management and clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field.
  • 10+ years of proven hands-on experience as an estimator in civil construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of interior, exterior and sub-systems construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in multiple estimating software systems and database systems, as well as MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
