Role Description

Capo is looking for a seasoned heavy civil construction professional to join our growing company in the Los Angeles area who can bring immediate knowledge and expertise to our company and clients. The ideal candidate could have a background in Project Management, Cost Estimating, Construction Scheduling or Field Engineering. Most importantly the individual will be knowledgeable in public works construction and heavy civil construction and be able to engage with General Contractor and Owner clients while helping them manage their projects.

This is a full-time position, and the individual will be part of our core consulting team. The individual will have the opportunity to work with various contractors and agencies throughout the greater Los Angeles area and Southern California as a whole. The heavy civil construction consultant will be responsible for planning, scheduling, estimating, and coordinating construction projects from the conceptual development stage through final construction and closeout. The role will be based in Greater Los Angeles, CA, with a combination project site work, in office work, and remote work as required to perform the job successfully. Successful candidates will have 5-15+years of experience working on projects in public works and civil construction such as Aviation, Highway, Rail, Roads, Bridges, Water / Wastewater.


Qualifications

  • 5-15+ years of experience in a combination of the industries and areas of expertise listed below
  • Strong knowledge of civil, heavy civil, or public works construction in the following areas: Aviation, Highway, Rail, Roads, Bridges, Water / Wastewater
  • Strong experience in the following areas: Project Management, Construction Management, Construction Scheduling, Cost Estimating, Field Engineering
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and ability to build and sequence a schedule from drawings and plans
  • Working knowledge of Heavy Bid Estimating Software are similar and ability to accurately estimate project scopes
  • Ability to lead meetings and engage with senior client staff to add value in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent in person communication and collaboration skills and also excellent communication skills using industry standard software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field desirable
