Pride Health is hiring for a Medical Assistant to support our client's healthcare organization in Euless TX USA 76039 . This is a 4-month assignment (possibility of extension or conversion).

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Pay rate: $18-22/hr (Pay rate depends on experience, expertise and education)

Duties:

  • Performs all duties within a Medical Assistant’s scope of practice
  • Organizes the clinical environment and provides support in patient care situations to assist physicians, APC’s and nurses
  • Perform patient-oriented procedures and medication administration under MA scope of practice
  • Operates diagnostic equipment (cannot interpret tests), remove staples from superficial wounds, changes wound dressing and obtains cultures, administers non-intravenous medication, performs simple specimen collection via noninvasive techniques and collects blood specimens via venipuncture or via capillary, performs EKGs. Performs quality control checks on equipment.
  • Prepares and sterilizes medical equipment using the autoclave.

Education/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Basic computer literacy with Intermediate Excel skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • CPR/BLS from American Heart Association or willing to get it within 30 days of getting an offer
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA/RMA) Required or can obtacin at the time of offfer within 180 days
