Our client in Amherst, VA is looking for a qualified project engineer:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate Project Details: Act as a liaison between Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing departments to ensure smooth project execution.
Review and Interpret Specifications: Analyze project specifications and cost projections to ensure alignment with customer requirements and internal capabilities.
Customer Communication: Maintain effective communication with customers and field representatives to address inquiries and provide updates on project status.
Utilize Software: Proficiently use internal and vendor selection software for project management and coordination tasks.
CAD Modification: Modify CAD drawings as necessary to meet customer specifications and project requirements.
Timely Reporting: Ensure timely completion of all internal and external reports related to project progress and performance.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
Project Planning and Organization: Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize projects effectively.
Autonomy: Capability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with employees and customers at all organizational levels.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and experience with AutoCAD.
Education/Experience:
Degree: Associate Technical or BS/BA degree preferred, preferably in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in CAD and project management, with preference given to candidates with experience in project management.
