Job Title: Shipping/Receiving Clerk | Department: Shipping & Receiving | Schedule: Full Time Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Materials Manager

1.0 Summary

• Assist Shipping and Receiving Supervisor with shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing

• Prepare bills of lading and check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct

• Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment

• Sort, count, package, label, unpack, and/or log inventory

• Inspect shipments for damages or defects; record discrepancies or damage and notify Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

• Prepare routine reports and file shipping/receiving records

• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

• Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to carry, move, or hoist materials to proper departments or areas

• Perform all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods and materials

• Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to customer base

• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor

• Required to make pick-ups and deliveries to suppliers for parts and raw materials

5.0 Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

6.0 Work Environment

This job operates outside in a shop environment with occasional high noise levels. Temperatures fluctuate throughout the year. Exposure to chemical substances is limited in this environment. General fire and health safety measures are provided throughout the shop and office.

7.0 Physical and Mental Requirements

• The employee must use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms and must be able to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and smell.

• The employee must be able to lift 40 pounds.

• The employee must have specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.

• The employee must have the ability to stand for long periods of time.

• The employee must be able to work in hot and cold temperatures and must be able to work outdoors.

• This position requires peak mental ability and the ability to intensely concentrate for extended periods of time.

• The employee must have the ability to work long hours, handle conflicts, and make decisions under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.

8.0 Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• Full Time

• Non-Exempt from Overtime; must track all time worked and is paid in accordance with federal and state guidelines.

• Monday – Friday 6:30 am – 3:00 pm

9.0 Travel

Travel is required for this position; locally only.

10.0 Required Education and Experience

• 1+ years of experience in similar field

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• Basic knowledge of shipping procedures, suppliers, routes, and rates

• Valid Driver’s License

11.0 Preferred Education and Experience

• Warehouse and inventory control

• Shipping

• Receiving

12.0 Work Authorization

This job requires work authorization documentation to be completed at the time of hire in alignment with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations (USCIS). I-9 documentation is followed.
