SCIENCE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Exciting opportunity as a Scientific Business Development in the Consumer Health division of Pharmaceutical Company.
Candidates should have a science-pharma background with good verbal, technical writing and online research abilities. An understanding of structural, functional natural ingredients for the food/beverage and nutraceutical sectors. Food scientists with PHD, Post-Doc and/or MD candidates are preferred, but other education levels are also accepted. This is a fast paced team environment which is customer interfacing with large B2B CPG and Pharma companies. Must have soft skills during conference calls as well as F2F meetings. Candidates should be a quick learner and will have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the natural products, pharmaceutical industry, generic drug markets, and regulatory affairs.

You will be reporting directly the the Director of Business Development and will be her right hand in organizing client meetings, and explaining technical information to customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Sell and Communicate to large organizations; buyers, technical and business professionals
  • Read, understand and follow COAs, Specifications for US FDA and international guidelines
  • Provide guidance for formulation development for food/beverage/nutraceuticals
  • Communicate with 3rd party labs for technical specifications and be conduit between customer and lab
  • Research structural, functional claims and present to clients
  • Give presentations on science of ingredients
  • Communicating with customers and vendors including CDMOs, CMOs, CROs
  • Organize meetings via excel and internal CRM, Follow up with existing customers
  • General Admin Responsibilities: meeting scheduling, document organizing

Skills:

  • Sales skills and soft skills in explaining benefits of health ingredients
  • Knowledge of natural ingredients and nutraceutical products in major therapeutic categories such as gut microbiome, sports nutrition, bone-joint health, sleep & anxiety, and other is a PLUS.
  • Research ability: searching databases & comprehending research articles on clinical trials
  • Organizational skills is a MUST
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • An understanding of clinical trials, biology, chemistry, small molecules
  • Experience working with large B2B CPG buyers and science teams
  • Enthusiastic about the work and is task oriented
  • Able to tackle tasks under-pressure and prioritize multiple assignments
  • Demonstrates professionalism for team and customer meetings and timeliness
  • Technology understanding: outlook, PDF, AI tools, microsoft suite
