Job DescriptionJob Description

The Mentor reports to the Executive Director or the designated appointee. Provides case management to youth ages 15 to 24 years to inform opportunities and guidance that enable the transfer of learning into effective first responder leadership practice for candidates/cadets and their peers. The mentor counsels and assists youth participants in developing working skills and preparing for entry-level jobs. Youth face issues affecting job-related performance and personal well-being. Mentor evaluates and recommends counseling if necessary. Provides case management and individual planning with youth that train with the Youth Leadership Academy program. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of leadership, and work.
