Buyers Products Company, a leading manufacturer in the work truck industry, is searching for a Quality Inspector that will be responsible for the in-process quality audits during the assembly of components and finished goods.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Work in a “Safety 1st” environment. Notify the Team Lead or any Supervisor or Manager of all safety violations.
  • Work with a small group of individuals to make a TEAM atmosphere while achieving established goals.
  • Contribute to the team by working with individuals to complete the production task in a timely manner.
  • Audit the assembly process for assigned area hourly. Making sure to reach the 4 main areas every hour.
  • Record documentation detailing the outcome of the quality audit processes.
  • Ensure fit/form/function of finished goods.
  • Provide support and assistance concerning minor quality defects discovered in the assembly area and enforce quality standards.
  • Verify pallets containing finished product are in an acceptable state for shipping
  • Assist quality department in handling quality issues assigned by Buyers Products.
  • Maintain open communication between assembly team, assembly management and quality department.
  • Recommend retraining and documentation of retraining when a quality issue occurs.
  • Work on the lines to train and teach when time permits.

Physical Requirement / Work Environment:

  • Sitting, standing for long periods of time and walking in manufacturing environment.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching and moving frequently.
  • May carry up to 70 pounds.

Skills/ Experience:

  • Basic math skills; Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions in English.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding (reasoning) to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
  • Must be willing to learn and practice continuous improvement techniques such as 5S, one-piece flow, line balance, and set-up reduction.

Education Background:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of both.
