Job DescriptionJob Description

We are looking for an individual with a solid mechanical/facilities background. You must be a hands-on problem solver with the ability to juggle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. This position will support one of our long term customers at their facility in the Santa Clara Valley.

Duties include the following:

Facilities Support

Facilities Engineering

  • Specify various facility systems parts and services

Facilities and Tool Install Project Management

  • Review 30/60/90% design drawings
  • Manage contractors during projects, respond to RFI's
  • Coordinate facilities systems shutdowns for project tie-ins

Facilities Maintenance

  • Facilities Rounds
  • Coordinate and support Annual Shutdown PM's
  • Coordinate Office Plumbing Repairs
  • Coordinate Office Electrical Repairs

Facilities Systems, Manage the following systems:

  • Liquid Nitrogen
  • Compressed Dry Air
  • Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning
  • Scrubbed and General Exhaust
  • Process Cooling Water/Process Chilled Water
  • Waste Water Treatment(pH adjustment)
  • RO/DI water
  • Contamination Control
  • Building Management systems
  • Fire Protection
  • Toxic Gas Alarm System
  • Pump lift stations
  • Point of Use Abatement
  • Specialty Gas Distribution Systems

Space Planning

  • Office Seating Arrangement
  • Lab Equipment Placement
  • Maintain Lab As-builts

Point of Use Chillers Management

  • Coordinate repairs and PM's with subcontractor
  • Connect and start up new chillers
  • Generate specifications and request quotes

Landlord/Contractor Interface

  • Fire Sprinklers
  • Roofing
  • Central Station

EHS Support

Gas Life Safety System

  • Coordinate repairs and PM's with subcontractor
  • Support drills or shutdowns
  • Provide introduction to new ERT members

Fire Alarm System

  • Coordinate Alarm System Repairs
  • Coordinate Inspections
  • Provide introduction to new ERT members

Hazardous Waste Management

  • Interface with HW contractors when onsite
  • Generate Lab Pack list, as needed

Ventilation Management

  • Coordinate Annual Survey with contractor
  • Coordinate Certifications with contractor

HEPA Vacuum Maintenance

  • Change HEPA bags as needed

Powered Industrial Truck Management

  • Coordinate PM's and repairs with contractors

Process Equipment Safety Inspections

  • Assist EHS manager with safety inspections of process equipment

Emergency Response Team Support

  • Back up ERT and provide support, as needed

Interface with JHA's

  • Fire Department
  • County Environmental Health Department
  • Building Department
  • Water Pollution Control Plant

Security Support

  • Provide Temp badges to employees and visitors
  • Provide Access to visitors and employees that forgot their badges
  • Misc security related tasks, as needed

General Support

  • After Hours Call Ins, as needed

Shipping & Receiving Back Up

  • Receive packages
  • Offload Trucks With Forklift

Information Technology Support

  • Attend Planning Meetings
  • Coordinate Wiring Contractors
  • Install cross connects

Software, experience is desired, but not required.

  • Autocad LT
  • Web Control
  • Watt Stopper

We ask that you carry a company provided cell phone 24x7 and respond to emergencies (this is very rare, so don’t let it scare you away)

Required Skills:

  • 7+ Years Facilities Experience in a high tech R&D and/or manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of the facility systems noted above
  • Knowledge of safe chemical and hazardous waste handling practices
  • Must be able to pass a respirator exam and wear a respirator on occasion.
  • Must know your way around common computer software(ie. MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Emergency Response Team experience beneficial, but not required.
