Supervises and Coordinates activities of Subordinates to meet FPI Targets and Objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving problems
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
  • Maintains time and production records
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
  • Performs activities of workers supervised
  • Leads “Treasure Box Meetings” and documents progress
  • Leads “Jishuken” Activities
  • Checks 5S of department and provides guidance for improvement.
  • Checks “Change Management Sheet and Activities”
  • Checks and Evaluates Production process Quality records for compliance and accuracy.
  • Checks Department for any Abnormalities using chart and graph data as well as overall observation of department.
  • Informs superior of abnormal conditions and countermeasures.
  • Checks standardization of departmental procedures and documentation.
  • Supports annual planned goals of Manager.
  • Promotes Prevention Activities for In-Process Defects, Downtime, Quality, and Cost Avoidance.
  • Instructs and Educates subordinates regarding 5S, Defect Analysis, Downtime Analysis, Yokaten, and Trouble Shooting.
  • Analyzes Abnormal Conditions such as Customer Problem, Downtime, Safety, etc. and Promptly reports to Manager.
  • Submits reports to Manager regarding Safety, Quality, Costs, Delivery, and improvement activities.
  • Checks production and downtime records of department and schedules countermeasure activities with other departments.

Job Dimensions (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities or KSAs)

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Supervisor is expected to attend relevant training in order to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to solve problems, develop and execute annual plans/targets

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Business Management or related degree preferred
