We are seeking an energetic and experienced Toddler Teacher to join our team Our Toddler Teacher will be willing to interact with students with passion and energy, and display age-appropriate teaching methods. Toddler instruction is best done through lots of high energy play, and our teacher will be willing to sing, be silly, and be an active participant in the classroom. You will be leading a class of young children age 18 to 24 months, assessing their current developmental levels, and designing lesson plans using our FunShine Express curriculum to meet students’ collective and individual needs. 
Responsibilities
  • Create and follow a comprehensive, age-appropriate lesson plan using FunShine Express curriculum
  • Be able to have fun, sing songs, and be silly A toddler teacher should be high energy and be willing to be on-the-go throughout the day. 
  • Teach beginning language and cognitive academic skills through play 
  • Assist children with developing social and emotional skills with patience and grace
  • Use a range of instructional methods, learning techniques, and age-appropriate classroom management methods
  • Communicate with parents and other school personnel
  • Change diapers
  • Maintain a safe environment that is conducive for learning and free exploration
  • Assess student's skills and performance using DRDP methods to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones 
    • Previous knowledge of DRDP assessments preferred, but not required
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 12 units of Early Childhood Education units, including 3 units of Infant and Toddler Development
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
  • Knowledge of California Department of Social Services Title 22 licensing regulations
  • Problem-solving and mediation skills, age-appropriate classroom management skills
