Acme Abrasive is looking for a Production Supervisor. The position will require you to:
  • Manage a production team ensuring productivity standards are achieved ensuring the smooth running of the production processes.
  • Ensure quality specifications are met for all product produced.
  • Have a strong machining and mechanical ability to trouble shoot problems independently.
  • Ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve problems.
  • Manage, develop and motivate direct reporting staff ensuring expectations are met.
  • Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance, general issues.
  • Ensure good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff.
  • Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Work closely with other Supervisors to ensure production workflow through effective communications tools.
  • Ensure that the training skills are met.
  • Use lean methodology to improve the production throughput.
  • Play an active role in the company's continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
  • Incorporate new manufacturing methods or processes to improve existing operations.
  • Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
To qualify you must have:
  • Experience evaluating and troubleshooting manufacturing processes and machinery.
  • Minimum of 4 years managing and leading people in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Manufacturing degree or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of 5S, Six sigma, Lean manufacturing principles, and Root cause and corrective action
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organization and management skills.
  • High level of technical expertise.
  • Strong analytical thinker.
