Language Arts Teacher

Classroom Responsibilities

1.       Plan for each school day’s instruction by preparing for each subject which falls into the assigned teaching responsibility.

2.       Utilize a variety of teaching methods, techniques, and activities to facilitate student learning.

3.       Communicate assignment instructions to students clearly and on an age-appropriate level.

4.       Maintain a positive classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

5.       Communicate student conduct expectations clearly to both students and parents.

6.       Pro-actively assist students in the development of a positive attitude toward their peers and teachers.

7.       Develop a classroom management plan that creates high behavioral expectations for students.

8.       Maintain a substitute teacher folder with all relevant instructions and information that is needed.

9.   Maintain a properly formatted curriculum guide for each subject that falls into the assigned teaching responsibility.

10.   Ensure that Coco, the school’s facility dog, is well taken care of at school and report any information to his handlers that need addressing.

 

School Procedures and Records

1.       Utilize grading system to record all daily and test grades, communicate daily and/or weekly lesson plans and daily homework assignments, and to email parents to keep them informed of their student’s progress or other important issues affecting their child.

2.       Turn daily attendance to the school office on a timely basis.

3.       Plan all field trips utilizing the specified school documentation and procedures.

4.       Make sure the school office has an accurate daily schedule for assigned classroom(s) at all times.

5.       Know and enforce school dress-code policy.

6.       Attend all required staff meetings and in-service/professional development days.

7.       Participate in school functions, fundraising, and other school-sponsored events.
