Credit Coordinator

SUMMARY
Incumbent is accountable for all phases of the new dealer registration process and assists manager in credit administration. A major job focus is to ensure that new dealers' questions and concerns are resolved in a timely manner and that the appropriate investigation relating to new dealer applications is completed thoroughly and timely.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned including assisting with other Auction functions and driving vehicles as needed.
New Dealer Registration
- Assist new and used auto dealers in completing all necessary paperwork to complete their application to do business with the Auction.
- Explain Auction operating procedures, policies, rules and regulations to new dealers.
- Investigate new dealer applications with other auctions and other credit references to determine credibility and financial status; checking KO (knock-out) book.
- Produce Dealer ID Cards with photos to be used by dealers on auction days.
- Update in custom computer system all changes relating to dealer files in a timely manner to ensure accurate dealer status.
- Inactivate dealers no longer eligible to do business with the auction because of a change in dealer license status, ownership or out of business.
- File dealer application in appropriate files regarding status (permanent, pending or inactive files for future reference.)
Credit Administration
- Communicate with banks by phone, mail, fax or email to obtain credit reference information.
- Assist in collecting money due on bad checks, hold paperwork until all monies due are collected.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Banking background preferable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; ability to work at a fast pace with a high degree of accuracy; strong computer (Word, Excel and Internet), data entry and customer service skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize; knowledge of basic accounting principles and collection procedures.
