Job DescriptionJob Description

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Staff Accountant is a hybrid position that works in GBLA’s financial department to complete the necessary budgeting and reporting for accurate accounting practices. They perform data imports and exports from GBLA’s Sage 300 accounting system, creates monthly and other periodic reports, and assembles information from various employee groups and third parties such as vendors. There are other various financial related duties assigned from time to time.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Ledger

1. Monthly reporting package, consisting of financial analysis in excel of GBLA grants.

2. Management of all grantor budgets, including input into accounting system.

3. Periodic journal entries, including payroll, insurance, etc.

4. Prepares backup for various grantor billings, including obtaining information from employees and timesheets.

Accounts Receivable

1. AR invoice input, and aging analysis.

Other

1. Assists with the preparation of monthly claims

2. Assists with month-end close

3. General data input to Excel spreadsheets as required.

4. Input to General Ledger system

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

1. General data input experience in computerized accounting programs (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger)

2. Typing 45 WPM, 10 key by touch preferred.

3. Attention to detail and accuracy.

4. Organizational Skills

5. Proficient in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Office suite)

6. Advanced level in Excel (pivot tables, linking sheets, import and export from accounting software)

7. Analytical Thinking
