We are currently seeking a Child and Family Therapist to provide therapy in community-based settings such as the child’s home, school, or day care.  Our therapists provide individual and family therapy, treatment planning, as well as consultation and collaboration with the case management team of children receiving other Bethanna services such as crisis services, foster care or Community Umbrella Agency services. 

Community Based Therapists working in our Clinical Transition and Stabilization program provide interventions and support for children experiencing a traumatic disruption or at risk for a traumatic disruption in their living situation.

Bethanna provides robust individual and group clinical supervision, therapist consultation with Psychiatry, opportunities for certification in evidenced based models of care, licensure supervision within a healing centered environment that priorities learning and growth opportunities for staff.

Required Education & Experience

  • A Masters degree from a regionally accredited program in a clinical mental health discipline that included a clinical practicum with children/adolescents is required.  A minimum of one year post-Masters experience providing assessment, treatment, and case management services to children within the mental health and child welfare system is required.
  • The employee must have experience with family systems and behavioral interventions; training and experience with play therapy is beneficial.
  • The ability to work effectively as a team member and navigate multiple systems is critical.
  • Effective communication (orally and in writing) is required (all candidates must submit a clinical writing sample). 
  • Valid Act 33 and 34 clearances.

The following are also requirements of the position;

The workforce member must be at least 21 years of age, free of communicable diseases as verified by a physician's statement prior to beginning the duties of this position, have Criminal, Child Abuse and FBI clearances completed within the last year and basic computer skills and knowledge. The workforce member will have access to a personal vehicle to be used for transportation purposes during work; will possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license (unless living in another state during the employment period), vehicle registration, car insurance, have a safe driving record and will demonstrate safe driving skills while driving for work purposes. A temporary exception regarding the PA license can be made for those who are coming from another state and require time to apply for a PA license or if a driver’s license is not held or required by their position.

Additional Information

  • Therapists working in this position will provide Clinical Transition and Stabilization Services (CTSS) which is a 90 day short term intervention aimed specifically to stabilize children and youth who are experiencing a disruption in their home environment or at risk for a disruption. Bethanna is the only provider of this specialized program serving Philadelphia Community Behavior Health members.
  • Staff have access to free evidence based trainings while working while in the position.  These trainings include:
    • TFCBT(Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy) certification provided free if eligible.
    • PCIT (Parent Child Interaction Therapy) certification provided free if eligible.
    • ESFT (Eco Systemic Structural Family)
