Compensation: $15 -16/hr
Location: Houston, TX 77073
Schedule: Monday thru Friday;6am - 2:30pm, 30 minute lunch. Possible overtime including weekends
Job Description:
Position involves spraying / brushing adhesive material to the inside of metal pipes prior to the next step in the process of manufacturing downhole drilling tools for the oil and gas industry. Employee is required to wear a half mask so facial hair that would prevent a proper seal is not allowed.
Candidates typically start as a helper for a week or two, then are sent for a fit test and once cleared they will paint/spray.
- Check materials and traceability, raise NCRs where applicable.
- Verify the details of the job to ensure correct material is to be prepared
- Check materials to ensure traceability, markings and prior operations have been completed satisfactorily in accordance with the job requirements and documentation.
- Clean and apply appropriate chemicals to materials in accordance with the job requirements and documentation.
- If necessary, review applicable safety data sheets (SDS) and the manufacturer’s instructions for the use of chemicals.
- Monitor the expiration dates (using the posted FIFO list) of chemicals and request replacement of them as applicable.
- Handle chemicals in a safe manner, including ensuring that chemicals are properly stored when not in use.
- Clean/maintain proper PPE for this area daily.
- Maintain and clean machinery/area daily.
Experience required:
- 1-2 years experience in manufacturing environment
- Experience operating overhead crane
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Basic Microsoft Office experience
Experience Preferred:
- 1-2 years experience in oil and gas, preferably the manufacture of downhole tools.
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Must wear steel toed boots, company provides safety glasses and other required PPE.
- Must be willing to submit to pre-employment drug screen
