Food Pantry Site Coordinator
Status and Compensation
Part time - Average of 20 Hours Per Week
Scheduled hours based on site open hours plus the time needed for duties taking place during closed hours.
Hourly Range $15 to $19 per hour, non- exempt. Not eligible for benefits.
Paid bi-weekly.
Purpose
Provide day-to-day oversight and supervision of on-site pantry operations in compliance with NFP, Northern Illinois Food Bank and Health Department policies and procedures.

NFP Pantry Operations Director
Skills and Experience Needed
Passion for food insecurity in our communities and compassion for neighbors in need. Works well with people. Kindness. Integrity. Organizational skills. Leadership. Previous experience as a volunteer or staff in a food pantry is helpful. Ability to use a computer to complete administrative work. Possess a valid Illinois driver license. Ability to lift 40 pounds.
Main Duties include, but are not restricted to the following:
Ordering/Collecting food items regularly from Northern Illinois Food Bank within established budget parameters. Review orders when received and notify NIFB of quality issues and shortages.
Oversee food recovery specific to your site. Van use, driver supervision, receiving, weighing, stocking, distributing, reporting on NIFB Meal Connect Portal. Substitute driver for pickups. Collaborate with other NFP sites in food recovery operations.
Maintain positive working relationships with Direct Connect Partners
Coordinate community food donations: receive, weigh and record food donations given from individuals and organization food drives on the NFP Pantry Donations Google tracking form.
Inventory rotation and management (FIFO).
Efficient management of guest registration and intake procedures to ensure quality and confidentiality of guest information and documentation.
Comply with EFP notices and reporting requirements.
Ensure that vehicle maintenance logs are kept by drivers and schedule maintenance as needed.
Train and develop assistant site coordinator (if assigned), to know and understand all functions of the pantry operations and administrative duties including placing orders, checking deliveries, submitting reports.
Develop volunteer opportunities needed and work with Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and onboard volunteers. Train and manage volunteers for the pantry site.
Coordinate services from designated vendors for refrigeration/freezer maintenance, pest control, trash removal.
Serve as NFP liaison to host site organization.
Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment
Maintain required Certifications including Food Safety, and State of Illinois Sexual Harassment, and DuPage County Health Department.
Respond to texts, emails & phone calls (within 24 hours if possible)
