Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Technical Engineering Leader to join our team of structural engineering professionals. In this crucial leadership role, you will provide technical guidance, oversight, and mentorship to our engineers on a wide range of construction projects. The role will entail a mix of team leadership and project production. This Senior Technical Engineering position at Plan North is available for immediate hire.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Provide technical leadership, oversight, quality assurance and quality control on structural engineering projects from conceptual design through construction administration.

·        Oversee and mentor junior structural engineers, reviewing their work, providing feedback, and ensuring adherence to company standards and industry best practices.

·        Develop creative and innovative structural solutions that meet project requirements, codes, and client needs.

·        Maintain expert-level knowledge of current structural engineering codes, standards, materials, and construction methods.

·        Conduct structural analyses, calculations, and evaluations for new and existing structures using advanced software and modeling techniques.

·        Prepare technical reports, specifications, drawings, and other documentation for structural designs.

·        Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and other design professionals to coordinate structural engineering efforts.

·        Represent the firm in client meetings, presentations, and on-site inspections.

Required Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited institution. Master's degree preferred.

·        Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.

·        Minimum of 8 years' experience in structural engineering, with significant experience in a technical leadership role.

·        Extensive experience in the design of residential, commercial, industrial, and component projects.

·        Proficiency with structural design/analysis software such as RISA Suite, etc.

·        Experience with drafting software, including Revit and ArchiCad preferred.

·        Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

·        Strong technical writing, communication, and team leadership skills.

·        Ability to effectively lead, mentor, and develop junior engineering staff.

Compensation and Benefits:

Our comprehensive benefits include healthcare, dental, vision and life insurance.
This role will receive competitive compensation based on experience and skills and $5k sign-on bonus (does not apply to applicants through recruiters). The potential pay range for this role is $100,000+.
