SCI Construction is seeking a diligent onsite Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting department in Whitehouse, Texas.

The Position:

This position will report directly to the Controller and work laterally with a skilled team of accounting professionals to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the company financials. The standard schedule will be in the office from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday but may require additional time to meet deadlines, as the need arises.

 

Duties for this position will entail the following:

· Responsible for accounts payable functions

· Receive and distribute incoming accounts payable invoices and related documents for approval

· Review and verify vendor statements

· Establish new vendors in accordance with company policies in QuickBooks system

· Identify and resolve any discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices

· Manage deposits made on required purchase orders

· Prepare and process weekly vendor payments

· Management and reconciliation on multiple credit card bills

· Act as primary backup to accounts payable manager during absences

· Monitor invoice inbox

· Work through and respond to inquiries and resolve questions/issues

· Work closely with vendors, maintaining proper vendor files

· Other duties as assigned by AP Manager/Accounting department

 

Additionally, the ideal candidate would preferably possess the following:

· Minimum 2-3 years experience

· Experience in working with an accounting software, such as QuickBooks Desktop.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

We are offering competitive compensation for this position that is commensurate upon experience. The candidate must be able to pass a background check and be authorized to work in the United States.
