Body Shop Manager - Auto Collision Repair Center
This is a CARSTAR franchise shop. We have 3 body techs and 1 painter. Our sales have doubled in the past 2 years and we are in need of an experienced hands on Manager for our shop. Owners are active and would like to be more hands off. This is a chance to learn all about the business and take over all the responsibilities as a Location Manager.
Please do not apply if you do not have experience with ordering and returning parts, writing estimates for various DRP's, or are not a highly motivated person capable of working in a very fast paced environment.
The following are a list of duties expected to be performed as part of this position:
Knowledge and proficiency in the use of CCC One Management system or an equivalent system is required. No exceptions.
Responsible for all customer service related exchanges, including answering phones and assisting walk in customers. Also, following up on customers with vehicle repair schedules and payments of deductibles and part deposits as necessary.
Responsible for writing all estimates according to the requirements of the insurance company for the vehicle.
Responsible for ordering of all parts for the initial estimate and subsequent supplements as needed for each vehicle.
Responsible for all aspects of parts coordination to include the above mentioned ordering. This also includes returning all damaged, incorrect or unused parts on a timely basis and ensuring that a credit memo is received and input into the repair order in CCC for all parts returned. Follow up as needed for anything pending past reasonable time.
Responsible for working with the body techs and all other employees to make sure the shop is functioning as efficiently as possible. Note that some of the employees are Spanish speaking and need to be accommodated for the language barrier. Responsible for ensuring that this is not an obstacle for performance.
Responsible for keeping all repair orders in CCC up to date and complete each day. All vendor information must be entered into the system and put aside to be sent to Accounting each day. All FIX ME’s must be corrected, and any exceptions cleared before locking RO. This responsibility could extend past the 8-5 operating hours of the shop. A laptop computer will be provided so that work can be done at the office or offsite as needed.
Responsible for setting up vendor accounts on 30 day account for any new vendors needed and keeping credit card use to an absolute minimum.
Responsible for all vendor correspondence regarding part issues/disputes, etc.
Responsible for ensuring the AAMS trainings (OSHA compliance) are up to date and all employees have signed off.
Responsible for holding a production meeting every morning to ensure all employees are on the same plan for the day/week/month.
Responsible for communicating with accounting via email as needed and handling all accounting requests with urgency.
Compensation for this position is based on experience.
Working hours are based on a hired salary employee to include being on location between the hours of 8 and 5 Monday through Thursday and 8 and 4 on Friday. As mentioned in the preceding, any work not completed on site within these hours is expected to be completed either onsite or offsite as needed.
Familiarity with Carstar operating procedures is preferred. I-Car certification is preferred.
