Job Title: Coating Manager

Location: Newburgh, NY

Job Type: Full Time                        Hours: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mon - Thurs

FLSA Status: Exempt                     Salary: $85,000 to $125,000

Job Description

The Coating Manager position directs and manages UTFL's Coating production activities by developing and implementing innovative, efficient, and effective production strategies and programs.  The role of Coating Manager requires steadfast leadership and vision that looks for innovative and inspiring ways to drive a positive company culture, a high-performance Coating team, and profitability.   The Coating Manager plays a significant role in maintaining relationships with clients and the ability for UTFL to generate new business, increase staff productivity, improve service, ensure sustainability, and meet business objectives.

Essential Duties

·       Manage Coating Department

    • Oversee daily Coating production activities, supervise Coating Technicians in clean room environment
    • Manage department operational costs
    • Approve standardized written procedures for Coating process
    • Coordinate activities between Coating and other departments
    • Participate in candidate selection, training and development
  • Serve as member of Senior Leadership Team
    • Project and allocate personnel and budget resources
    • Establish systems, policies and procedures
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and coating efficiencies to identify growth opportunities
  • Align with UTFL Vision, Values and Culture:
    • Standardize processes to deliver consistent, precise outcomes
    • Growth planning

  • Additional Duties as required

Requirements

·       Knowledge of thin film coating applications required

·       Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science or similar field

·       Supervisory experience

·       Budget Management experience

·       Excellent communication skills

·       Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available.

·       Must be able to work on U.S. government programs

Physical Job Characteristics

·       Standing and sitting for long periods

·       Handling small, fragile, and high-value materials

·       Using magnification equipment to examine microscopic detail
