Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe State of Nevada is looking to fill a temporary data entry position. The position will consist of multiple duties such as processing faxed responses and managing mail and emails each day.This is a long term, full-time, potentially temp-to-hire assignment that pays $16.43/hr.
Duties:
  • Collect faxes from the fax machines, mail from the appropriate in-box(es) and manage emails.
  • Query the subject submitting responses and file them accordingly.
  • Will also perform “callbacks”, which consist of calling gun dealers to advise them of the transfer status for their backgrounds. These statuses will consist of either proceed, delay or deny.
  • Utilize internal systems to look up phone numbers for gun dealers.
  • Organizing and scanning denied cases into an electronic format.
  • Data entry into the FBI National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).
  • Frontline research to obtain needed criminal history information to assist higher level staff in making the appropriate determinations for the firearm transfer and answering phone calls to conduct initial background check for firearm eligibility.

Required Skills and Education:
  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
  • A keen eye and attention to detail. Accuracy is paramount
Additionally, staff cannot have unnaturally colored hair--ie: pink, purple, green, or blue. Candidates must have natural hair colors or be willing to change their hair to natural hair colors.
