Team Custodians will clean the church property in an orderly and systematic manner.

Cleaning includes:

  • Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and polishing floors stairs and other surfaces.
  • Cleaning restrooms, kitchens and other areas.
  • Washing windows.
  • Dusting and polishing woodwork, furniture and equipment.
  • Coordinate cleaning of occupied areas – offices, classrooms, etc.- to minimize disruptions.
  • Set up church furnishings and equipment for various church activities and then put away following conclusion of activities. EG setting up
  • tables and chairs in the Ramsey Center for Trivia Night, Rotary meetings, special events, brunches, potluck suppers, training, etc.
  • Perform minor repairs on plumbing, electrical and other systems (replacing light bulbs, unclogging pipes, bleeding radiators, touch-up
  • painting, etc.)
  • Unlock and lock doors, check windows, turn lights on and off, and perform other security and hospitality duties in cooperation with the
  • Office Coordinator.
  • Remove snow and leaves from walks and lawn as needed.

Act as the facilities point-of-contact with outside groups using FPC facilities and with outside workers and contractors repairing or renovating FPC facilities. Work with designated member of Property Ministry Team on facilities maintenance. Work with the ordained staff and families to prepare the church for weddings, funerals and other events. (May include extra hour opportunities).

Maintain proper inventory of custodial supplies within the constraints of the church budget.
Attend weekly staff meetings occasionally as requested.
Specific cleaning assignments will be made by the Pastor/Head of Staff.


The Custodian Team will generally do their work independently, so there will be one team member in the facility for most of the work week, but there will be some overlap for purposes of coordination within the team. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday.
